Writing the True Self

1

Flexible Creativity

The Write Attitudes help you to think clearly about options. The third attitude, "Flexible Creativity" helps a student adapt to new situations and think of new ideas. He should engage with his values, while allowing his creativity to be unrestrained. Freewriting without rules or judgment allow the student author to explore his ideas. His individual voice takes over, in a flow of words and connections, paragraphs forming one by one. Throughout the rough draft, he might not consciously consider the audience, but that can be modified later. With a place to stand, a problem to solve, and the power of the written word, creativity ensues. A rough draft joins the seeds of ideas with purpose, audience, and context into a creative synthesis.
